211 Information and Referral Network, United Way of Central Texas Speak with a call specialist or visit the online portal at 211texas.org for up-to-date information on resources available within the community. Information is available on food pantries, rent and utility assistance, child care, free income tax preparation services, senior services and more. during a disaster, 211 also serves as primary point of contact regarding state and federal resources. Simply dial 211 from any phone or visit 211texas.org to visit the online database or chat with a specialist.

Workforce Solutions of Central Texas

Childcare Services (CCS) enables parents to work or attend courses by offering access to subsidized daycare services, information about trusted providers, parent classes, and referral to other resources.

Childcare Services can provide information about other programs within Workforce Solutions of Central Texas that might benefit you and how to find a daycare center in your area, or all across Texas.

We provide childcare for ages 6 weeks - 12 years. We have full/part-time childcare, providing breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. We also offer afterschool and summer programs. Call us for more information on pricing and fees. **CCS Accepted**

We also provide: At-risk Meals through Partnership with Central TX Alliance.

Central Texas 4C, Inc. (Head Start)

Besides providing developmentally appropriate education to income eligible children ages 0-5, we provide to the Head Start child and family: Health and Nutrition Services, Mental Health Services, Disability Services, Transition Services, Social Services, Literacy Services and other parent education opportunities. We have four locations in Temple:  Dickson Head Start serving children 0-5, Hal Rose Head Start 0-5, Saulsbury-Jean Wilson Children's Center 0-5 and our newest center Avenue J Head Start serving ages 0-3.  Currently our services are virtual and distanced, but include early childhood education and family services.  We are working to prepare for center openings when we consider it safe.  We are accepting applications which will ensure a "slot" when centers re-open and there is no charge for the program.

Frontline Childcare Website

There are thousands of workers who will qualify as COVID-19 Frontline Essential Workers. In order to help prioritize available child care, the following essential workers are given priority:

  • Healthcare and pharmacy workers

  • First responders

  • Workers in child care services, in support of workers in other essential functions

  • Critical infrastructure workers in grocery, utilities, and trucking

  • Other identified infrastructure workers, which include critical state and local government staff; mail/delivery services; nursing homes, home health care and other direct care providers; banks; gas stations; military; and restaurants and other food delivery

  Ralph Wilson Youth Club

Ralph Wilson Youth Club offers affordable and quality youth recreation opportunities for the Central Texas community through our Summer and After-School programs.
Our programs are built around our facility’s three Centers of Excellence: Academics, Athletics, and Fine Arts; which provide enrichment and unique experiences for our members.
